Who would have ever imagined that chocolate chip cookies were a mistake? Near Whitman Massachusetts, Ruth Wakefield used to do butter cookies for her guests in 1937. One day she decided to add a piece of semi-sweet chocolate and see what happened and how they reacted. To her surprise, they loved it! And she had to publish the recipes in the newspaper, they became very popular.
That, I think is just awesome! Who would have ever imagined something so good and famous would have just happened by adding an innocent, yet the most delicious sweet thing ever… chocolate!?
