Apples pies or tarts were actually around here since the Middle Ages! Isn’t that just so cool? Before, they weren’t exactly like we know them, they didn’t have sugar and they weren’t really meant to be eaten. You must be wondering why they did them anyways, but don’t worry. Back then, like around 1381, they didn’t have that much sugar and the one they and was extremely expensive, but some cooks of King Richard II, presented it to Queen Elizabeth, latter on, and that was the first officially known apple pie. So to make the long story short, apple pie used to be much different to what we know, but through the decades, we have been able to have the wonderful and delicious combination on apples, sugar and flour that we all love.
